This dual-screen Android smartphone was impressive with its design but faced a number of limitations such as high cost and targeting a narrow market segment.

Microsoft today announced the end of support for the Surface Duo, marking the end of the lifecycle of this long-suffering device.

The company had previously promised Android and security updates for three years, but that period has now expired. Although the Surface Duo initially ran on Android 10, it missed the Android 11 update in 2021 and only received it in 2022.

The latest update for this was Android 12L.

However, the Surface Duo’s price has dropped significantly over time, dropping to just a few hundred from its original $1,400. This was because consumers did not show enough interest.
