The Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) suspended the license of the Russian antivirus developer Dr.Web. This applies to the validity of the Enterprise Security Suite certificate, a solution for protecting all objects on the corporate network, as well as monitoring mail and Internet traffic.
The document confirms that the product can be used in systems for storing personal data and other critical information in the public sector and in private organizations, writes Kommersant.
FSTEC did not provide any explanation to the company, so “the discrepancy cannot be eliminated.” The service itself did not respond to the publication’s request.
After the departure of foreign suppliers, only Dr.Web and Kaspersky Lab remained on the market, experts say. At the same time, companies with critical information infrastructures must, according to regulatory requirements, use at least two antivirus protection tools.
As a result, market participants emphasize, the revocation of the Dr.Web certificate threatens to cause difficulties for customers.
