Apple announced today (6). WWDC 2022chip apple M2company’s new processor ARM architecture. Focusing on power and efficiency, the chip will be found in next-generation Mac laptops built with the new platform in mind.
Chip made on a 5-nanometer process promises to deliver 18% more processing power and even 25% more GPU performance Better than the Apple M1. The design also includes 20 billion transistors and 100GB/s of bandwidth and 50% skip compared to its predecessor.
Apple M2 specs also include 8 processor cores and up to 10 graphics card cores. The chip also supports up to: 24 GB RAM in LPDDR5 standard.
According to the company, the new chip will be impressive in terms of energy efficiency. Following the legacy of the M1 series, the Apple M2 promises to deliver up to 2.3 times more GPU power than a Galaxy Book2 360 laptop with less energy consumption. Also, the company promises to outperform laptops with 12-core CPUs like the Intel Core i7-1260P using a quarter of the power.
Apple has also equipped its new platform with a 40% more powerful 16-core neural network that can perform. up to 15.8 trillion transactions per second. Other component features include support for external displays up to 6K resolution and ProRes video encoding.
