The lawsuit was first filed in 2022 but was recently updated with allegations from managers Anthony Foreman and Connor Slater. They filed an amendment lawsuit on behalf of their colleagues.
The lawsuit alleges that Apple failed to take into account sales commissions, which are higher than regular wages, when calculating overtime pay. So the claim against Apple is that the company did not pay full overtime wages. It is also alleged that iBiz did not pay sellers for all the hours they worked.
“For example, Apple has engaged in the illegal practice of denying consultants overtime pay by requiring them to start their work day at home via online video conferencing, leave their homes after completing that video conference, and then report to their workplaces. He was sent to the next workplace without being paid for travel time, the lawsuit stated.
The Register noted that $500,000 was “four minutes away from Apple’s last quarterly profit of $19.9 billion.”
