A couple of weeks ago, the Yandex Market brand, Commo, launched a new model of wireless headphones – Loom Earbuds.

I reviewed the previous model here six months ago, and even then a lot of questions and complaints had accumulated about it. I’ll be honest: since the Loom Earbuds are positioned as even more budget-friendly, we expect from testing them, if not deeper conclusions, then definitely not positive ones.

Everything turned out to be exactly the opposite. I’ve been wearing them for several days and haven’t seen any serious problems yet. I hear normal sound, which is not embarrassing for this type of headphones. Absolutely decent microphone. Good opening hours. And I’m unexpectedly pleased with the headphones.

I can even pronounce it.

We are fine with production, and there are no exceptions here.

The headphones are produced in a high-quality, dense and bright box of a proprietary orange-yellow color on a gray-green backing. Commo (or, rather, Yandex Market) wants people to use it in everyday life after unpacking their box, which is nice, but can hardly be considered as some kind of unusual plus.

The kit is spartan, and although adequate for open-type “plugs”: one USB-C to USB-C cable in light green color. All. The feature of the previous model, which included two cables at once, is not duplicated here.

I’ll warn you right away. Before use, you must remove the protective film from the contacts of each listener. It is almost invisible, and I can perfectly understand those who, after purchasing, will complain about reviews, expecting that “the headphones don’t work.”

The case is simple, but hassle-free

One of the simplest and most uncomplicated cases I’ve ever seen on headphones. Translucent, dull, hollow. It solves its problem, but nothing more. Again, the contrast with the cool case of Commo’s other headphone model is obvious.

The headphones are placed horizontally and secured with magnets. You can then confuse which “ear” goes to which “ear” in the view, but the case will not close. LEDs on the outside indicate the charger level of the case. The button inside is used to connect to devices.

Charging port – USB-C.

Headphones for comfort – like second generation AirPods

The design of the headphones is simple, without any features. If you look closely, you can walk along the rough plastic joints.

There is a multifunctional touch button on the headband of the headphones. In the last version it got on my nerves, so my expectations were negative.

If you’re someone who still loves the old AirPods and can’t stand the shape of the AirPods Pro, then you’ll definitely like the Commo Loom Earbuds. They sit in the ears exactly the same way. For many at this important moment: I know many people who fundamentally use regular AirPods, and not the firmware, solely because of the fit.

The headphones work for 5 hours, the case gives another 15. The recovery gives 20 hours of battery life.

The controls are finally ok

Let me remind you that the main problem General guidance were their touch buttons. They worked terribly, and because of them I stopped using headphones for good. Therefore, not without joy, Yandex Market confirms: Loom headphones have normally working sensors. Wrong conclusions about rare rares.

Unfortunately, the model does not have its own application, so 100% functionality is regulated exclusively through taps. Remember their elements, let me remind you of the entire list:

▪ Power on: hold the button for 2 seconds.
▪ Power off: hold the button for 5 seconds.
▪ Play/Pause: Touch the headphones to any of the headphones.
▪ Volume up: hold the button on the left ear.
▪ Volume down: hold down the button on the left earphone.

▪ Next track: 2 taps on right earbud click
▪ Previous track: 2 taps on left earphone click
▪ Voice assistant: 3 quick presses on the right earphone

In addition to overload, one of the disadvantages of the control is a quiet confirmation signal. When you change tracks correctly and interact with the touchpads, the headphones make a clicking sound. It is practically inaudible even in silence, and even more so in street conditions.

But otherwise, I no longer call Siri out of the blue instead of switching tracks and can normally adjust the volume on the go. If work was done to correct the errors of the latest models, then it was done well.

I was very pleased with the sound. No worse than the AirPods of the world’s first leaders

With open-back in-ear headphones, the so-called earbuds, there is traditionally little demand for sound quality. I want clear vocals, long-lasting and at least minimal bass.

The Commo Loom headphones play exactly like that, and it’s hard to blame them for something that you can’t blame any figure-type headphones for. Loom headphones can be listened to for a long time, they are quite omnivorous (again, within the framework of open possibilities).

It’s nice to hear their sound in general. I think it’s better than the “older” Commo Hover theory. And thanks to this, as well as good microphones, I see in this model an inexpensive alternative to the familiar Apple “pods”.

The microphone is ok again

As with the latest models, the Loom Earbuds are better than most other headphones in the same price range. This increases the usefulness of the model several times, which makes it necessary to use them, for example, exclusively as a conversational tool.

In the morning and in noisy environments, the quality of voice capture drops, since there is no noise reduction. But in the rest, the interlocutors will not complain that you cannot hear well, but say that you will be normal for them.

For 2 thousand and a penny this is a really good choice.

There’s not much to say about these headphones. Whatever one may say, the base model is in many ways. But I have minimal complaints about her.

The signal stays on perfectly and does not fall off across the room. The operating time of 5 hours is confirmed in the figure, which is clearly not overestimated. The case is large and simple, but otherwise hassle-free. I was pleasantly pleased with the sound; this is a really high level for budget ears. And the microphone has not deteriorated – you can still hear it clearly, without “squelches”.

Commo Loom headphones are sold only on Yandex Market and now cost 2,200 rubles including the discount. Regular price 2990 rubles.

If you need something to replace your old AirPods, I can safely name the Loom Earbuds as a very affordable alternative with a minimum of disadvantages, a familiar fit and good quality. Hopefully Commo’s good bug fixing trends continue and their next product in this category doesn’t disappoint. The first pancake came out lumpy, but the second one can be served with confidence.
