The Engineering Center for Industrial Microbiology was established at Tambov State University named after GR Derzhavin, which is part of the Priority 2030 program. This center is a rarity in Russia, as fewer than ten similar infrastructures exist in universities in the country. Its aim is to collaborate with industrial partners interested in expanding production using microbiological synthesis as well as developing industrial standards.
Pavel Moiseev, rector of Tambov University, emphasizes the importance of the new infrastructure and states that it will change the education of future microbiologists. The center will be used for internship and applied training of students studying in the field of biology and biotechnology.
The main equipment of the center is a pilot line for the production of various biological products such as biofertilizers, biopesticides and others. This line includes several bioreactors of different volumes and associated software, allowing the development of new products in small volumes for further testing. BioTechno Group provided the equipment and development methodology.
The engineering center works in two directions: training specialists to manage biotechnological processes at industrial enterprises and developing new products and technologies for their production. It is a major player in the field of innovative microbiology and promises new products and research in this field.
