Although the aerospace giant confirmed that there was a cybersecurity incident in its parts and distribution division, it is remaining tight-lipped about the nature of the data breach.

Boeing is assuring the public that the breach does not pose a direct threat to aircraft or flight safety. However, the extent of the potential threat was not disclosed, especially when it came to defense or sensitive information.

The incident adds to a growing list of cyber attacks that have led to Lockbit being known as one of the most sophisticated criminal groups in cyberspace.

The aviation giant is promising to conduct a thorough investigation into the hack, working with law enforcement, regulators and affected parties.
