The Czech brand Skoda has officially presented the Skoda Epiq, an electric car that… has many opportunities to conquer the European market. The reason is simple: it has everything the modern consumer demands. This is an SUV with a 100% electric motor, the price of which without assistance will range from 25,000 euros. In addition, it will be produced in Pamplona (Spain), which is always a plus for the local market.

The car will be based on a platform Login to the OIE, the same one that Volkswagen will use for the ID.2 ALL, an electric compact that will be produced in Martorell (Spain). This variant of the MEB, which the group uses in other vehicles (such as the ID.4), is aimed at smaller and, above all, more affordable electric vehicles.

Skoda Epiq uses new design language

Skoda Epic Its length is 4.1 meters. and uses the Czech brand’s Modern Solid design language. Thanks to its dimensions, it begins to compete with other cars such as the Peugeot E-2008 or the Opel Mokka, two SUVs also belonging to the B segment.

An interesting fact is that the Skoda Epiq The trunk volume will be 490 liters., a very commendable indicator, considering the dimensions of the car and the segment to which it belongs. However, we’ll have to wait for the final version to find out exactly how Skoda achieved this milestone.

Its interior is filled with “durable, practical and environmentally friendly materials” – a philosophy that combines with a simple and minimalistic design, as in most electric vehicles. The interior shown by the brand features two screens – a digital instrument panel and a central screen – multiple control knobs at the bottom of the dashboard and a steering wheel with physical controls. The rest of the cabin of the new Skoda Epiq is devoid of buttons and controls.

Skoda Epic inside

As for technology, Skoda does not disclose details, but mentions the presence of radars and cameras on the front grille of the car, the possibility of installing matrix headlights, the ability to access the car through digital keys on a mobile phone and the presence of a wireless charger for smartphones under the center console.

More than 400 km of autonomy WLTP

Regarding autonomy, The brand only confirmed that the Skoda Epiq will overcome the WLTP barrier of 400 km., but did not specify either the battery capacity or the engines. It also didn’t provide information on charging speed, a key factor for electric vehicles when traveling long distances. It is stated that the car has V2H, that is, its battery can be connected to the home electrical installation and act as a supplier of electricity.

Skoda Epic

Automobile will hit the market in 2026, although the presentation of the final model will occur several months earlier, in 2025. The company says that the Skoda Epiq will cost around 25,000 euros – probably before assistance, although the brand did not specify this in its statement. This is a figure similar to those published by other brands in the group for vehicles based on the MEB Entry platform.

When it hits the market, Skoda will have to compete not only with traditional brands, but also with numerous Chinese companies that are starting to penetrate Europe. Among them are MG and BYD, which have already captured a certain percentage of the Spanish market share. Thus, it is a strategic tool for the group.
