Russian company Transport of the Future has announced that it has partnered with Indian manufacturer Sasaa Electronics to form a joint venture in India.

The agreement, signed at the Dubai Airshow 2023 in Dubai on November 14, 2023, provides for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles designed for agricultural monitoring and cargo delivery in the mountainous regions of India.

Assembly of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles is planned to begin in March 2024. Co-production promises to occupy 25% of the local market and generate revenues of up to $1.3 billion per year in the future.

Sasaa Electronics CEO Rakesh Goel emphasized the desire for maximum localization of production. Investments in the project are estimated to be less than $10 million, and this will be possible by using the existing production base of the Indian company.
