Apple announced this Wednesday (29) the winners of its App Store Award, which recognizes the best additions to the company’s app store. In all, Received 14 awards in 10 categories.

This year’s winners represent the limitless potential of developers to bring their visions to lifeCreating apps and games with remarkable craftsmanship, exceptional quality, and purposeful tasks,” says Tim Cook, the company’s CEO.

The best apps and games on the App Store in 2023

According to Apple’s curation, The best iPhone app is a trail, route and map service for walking or cycling. The list also includes a movie streaming platform, a makeup simulator, and a photo editor.

Brazil was represented at the awards by two winners: Prêt-à-Makeup by Roberta Weian, the winner of the iPads; and SmartGym by Mateus AbrasA gym physical activity manager that is considered the best app for Apple Watch.

The best iPhone game is an anime-looking RPG, while the tablet game is a puzzle adventure.

Also released for Windows and consoles like a soul Lies of P also won an award, as well as a Hello Kitty game exclusive to the gaming subscription platform.

Cultural Impact Award

In addition to the categories above, Apple also awarded five applications that were considered to be able to create positive changes in the world. The winners are as follows:

  • Pok Pok: a digital toy for children to explore environments, shapes and colors;
  • Entrance: an accessibility tool that helps people of all ages communicate with screen touches;
  • Too Good to Go: a platform that connects people with restaurants and stores to buy food that would otherwise be thrown away at a lower price;
  • Unpacking: a thought-provoking puzzle game that encourages reflection on adult life;
  • Finding Hannah: A game of finding an object on the screen about the process of self-discovery and healing.

In addition to award-winning applications and games, the company Generative artificial intelligence was chosen as “Theme of the Year”. According to Apple, this topic has “captured the collective imagination with its evolution unfolding in real time” despite being at the beginning of its life in this market.
