According to Ildar Neverov, General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “GT Arktikugol”, the creation of such a center represents a step towards increasing scientific and tourist activities in Spitsbergen. It is planned to develop extreme, scientific and cruise tourism.

Work has already begun to create an autonomous tourism infrastructure that can attract guests to the archipelago. The villages are implementing the “Reserved Archipelago” museum concept to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of Spitsbergen.
