Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree allocating more than 7.9 billion rubles for additional financing for the creation and modernization of agricultural facilities in the regions. Funds will be allocated to reimburse only a portion of agricultural producers’ costs.
According to the resolution, the allocated funds may be used to partially finance the construction and renovation of production facilities. This “will provide farmers with additional capacity to increase production, so that they can continue to provide citizens with quality food products.”
The decision concerns storage facilities for agricultural products, dairy farms, as well as selection, seed and breeding centers (in total more than 100 regional investment projects).
The decision to allocate funds from the Cabinet reserve fund was made on December 15 at a government meeting and “aims to develop agriculture and ensure the country’s food security.”
