Qualcomm said its new Snapdragon X Elite processor for PCs is 21% faster than Apple’s M3.
In the Geekbench multi-core test, the Snapdragon X Elite chip scored 15,300, while the Apple M3 scored 12,154. The company did not say how much power the Snapdragon X Elite consumes to achieve this result.
It is expected that Snapdragon X processors will be available in several versions with different power consumption and power. The 80 version will be the fastest, but it will heat up more and require active cooling. The 23W version is designed for thin laptops without fans.
Snapdragon X was announced at the end of October shortly before the presentation of the MacBook Pro with M3 Pro and M3 Max. The processor will go on sale in 2024, when the same and full specifications will appear.
