Grimes teamed up with toy company Curio to introduce Grok, equipped with a speaker and microphone that sends the text of the conversation to an app with parental controls. Grimes and Curio say the name comes from “Grocket,” reflecting the SpaceX-inspired environment that Grimes’ children are familiar with.

Elon Musk also has his own Grok, a rival chatbot to ChatGPT, named after a character in Robert Heinlein’s sci-fi novel, trained on social media data and with a “rebellious streak.”

Coincidence? Tough. It’s called X Æ A-12, especially considering Grimes and Musk were a couple in the past and even had a child together.
