The Tagansky Court in Moscow fined Google Corporation 4.6 billion rubles for repeatedly refusing to remove information prohibited in Russia. This was reported by the Moscow Courts of General Jurisdiction Telegram channel.
The reason for the protocol was the videos on YouTube.
“Google LLC was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under part 5 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and was sentenced to an administrative fine of 4,611,738,636 rubles,” the message says.
For the first time, the court imposed a turnover fine of 7.2 billion rubles on Google in December 2021, also due to the failure to remove information prohibited in Russia. In the summer of 2022, the company received a second turnover fine of 21.077 million rubles.
In October, the Moscow Arbitration Court declared Google’s Russian subsidiary bankrupt.
Also in October it emerged that Google faces a third fine for failing to remove content. Roskomnadzor’s claims against Google concerned its refusal to remove information related to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
