There are several reasons why electric cars are still so expensive.

First of all, electric cars have not yet become widespread. And this is despite the fact that they have been produced for over 100 years. The number of factories that will produce all the necessary components for such a machine is also small.

The most expensive part of an electric car is the battery. Global lithium shortage has increased lithium prices. Additionally, in 2020-2023, there was a shortage of semiconductors that these cars need. Added to this are factors such as extreme weather conditions in Taiwan and the trade war between China and the US, which also caused prices to rise further.
