Lambert tried to convey the essence of Portal, but it feels like it came out on consoles in 1996. Two-thirds of the original game’s test chambers have been recreated (13 out of 19), the portal gun has been “updated” and other little things.
Lambert’s passion extends beyond gaming. Rumble is actively looking for ways to improve the Portal 64 experience, such as adding support for the pak gamepad.
Loyal fans also chipped in, with one creating a physical game cartridge and even a box, and another even modding his N64 console with a Portal theme.
You can download it here, but keep in mind that you’ll need the original game for that, which isn’t that expensive anymore.
