An experiment on labeling cosmetics and household chemicals began in Russia on January 15. It will last until February 28, 2025.
The list includes makeup, hair, oral and dental products, shaving products, deodorants, soaps and detergents. The experiment will not affect the cost of production, reports Prime.
Manufacturers can participate in the experiment free of charge and voluntarily. They will receive dialing codes and equipment for free.
The operator of the “Honest Sign” labeling system, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), citing data from the Higher School of Economics, reported that the share of illegal circulation of cosmetics and household chemicals reaches 16%.
- In 2023, demand for Russian cosmetics almost doubled in one year. Some Russian cosmetics manufacturers enjoyed popularity in the budget segment: Natura Siberica, Vivienne Sabo, Mixit, Divage, Eva Mosaic, Levrana and others.
