The new product, called Game Station Portable, is equipped with a 7-inch screen. Note that the device is not Windows or SteamOS based.
The pedal controller, D-pad and trackball included in the Game Station Portable are ideal for classic games like Pong.
Although the list of supported games has not yet been released, it is expected to be larger than that of the Atari 50 Pocket Player Pro, a compact handheld device that offers 100 classic Atari games.
At CES 2024, the MyArcade team confirmed that the system currently supports more than 200 games. One interesting feature the company has added is the implementation of LEDs around the supported controller, providing visual cues to players unfamiliar with Atari games.
These LEDs only light up when the game requires a specific controller or button. Additionally, the system is equipped with a stand and two USB Type-C connectors.
The console costs $149, which is three times more than the Atari 50 Pocket Player Pro. The sales launch is expected to take place between September and October, although some adjustments are possible.
