Last year, US authorities banned Apple from selling the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the country due to violations of Masimo’s patents.

To resolve the issue, the company is going to “remove the pulse oximetry function,” which uses Masimo technologies. This applies only to US models, Masimo’s lawyers noted.

Apple itself has not yet commented on Masimo’s statements. It is not known exactly how the company plans to highlight functions: choose sensors in new models or simply disable the option programmatically.

Let’s remember that today a US appeals court decision may be made, according to which Apple will suspend the Apple Watch ban throughout the appeal process. [9to5]
