Perhaps in the 1 and 2 TB versions of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, Apple will replace NAND flash memory with three-level cells (TLC) with quad-level cells (QLC). This type of memory is cheaper and more capacious, at the same time it takes up less physical space, so you can install 2 TB drives. But NAND has a significant advantage: faster read and write speeds.
According to DigiTimes, the 128, 256 and 512 GB versions of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will most likely receive three levels of NAND memory, while the 1 and 2 TB versions will receive four levels of QLC memory.
