Two-thirds of Russian citizens who left the country after February 2022 left domestic companies. At the same time, many relocatees maintain connections with their homeland in one way or another, and 90% follow Russian policy. These data come from the OutRush survey, cited by Kommersant.
OutRush surveyed more than 10 thousand people. According to the company, in the summer of 2023 the number of emigrants still working in Russian organizations was reduced to 13%. Previously, this figure was 43%. In September 2022, there were 17% of these workers.
According to OutRush, in September 2022 (a partial mobilization in Russia was announced this month), the income of those relocated decreased significantly. According to experts, to this day they have not recovered.
The richest Russian citizens abroad see a continuous decline in their income, while the income level of the poorest has stabilized.
Analysts also asked citizens who left about how they feel about their identity. The majority of respondents (53%) described themselves as part of the foreign community of Russians. Another 31% said they were global citizens.
A quarter (25%) of respondents consider themselves part of a family and close circle, 21% said that they are part of the “Russia of the future.” 20% of respondents consider themselves European, 18% consider themselves part of the host country, and 14% still consider themselves part of Russia as a whole.
15% of those relocated complained of feeling isolated. About half of all respondents learn the language of their host country.
At the same time, 90% of Russians who left in the last two years continue to closely follow the socio-political situation in the country.
