Within a week, everyone affected by the layoff will receive a letter signed by PayPal CEO Alex Criss. The document says the layoffs are related to “consolidation of technologies,” the need to expand process automation and “a greater emphasis on efficiency.”

This is the second wave of layoffs at PayPal. In February 2023, the company laid off 2,000 employees, explaining its decision by “difficult macroeconomic conditions.”
