VEB.RF became a shareholder of the Sk Capital investment platform

As follows from the message, the corporation entered the capital on equal terms with the Skolkovo Foundation (50/50). By attracting such a shareholder, Sk Capital will be able to combine the strategic resources of the state corporation with the experience of Skolkovo and the platform’s own team.

According to VEB.RF President Igor Shuvalov, as a result of the transaction, startups in the Skolkovo ecosystem will have new opportunities, and with Sk Capital this step will allow them to increase their opportunities in the context of the launch of a new investment cycle.

“The partnership will allow us to combine the competencies and capabilities of the business and scientific-technical communities, the state strategy and the demands of large companies,” said Vladimir Sakovich, CEO of Sk Capital.

Speaking to RBC, Sakovich explained that thanks to cooperation, a new technological investment center has been formed. He also clarified that the deal was monetary.

Previously, VEB.RF announced venture investments worth 50 billion rubles in cybersecurity projects, development of telecommunications equipment, technologies in oil services and in the field of drones.

The investment platform Sk Capital (formerly Skolkovo Ventures) has been operating since 2017. The structure is managed by several open venture funds with funds from state corporations and private companies. In autumn 2023, Sk Capital launched a new venture fund to invest in IT companies. Its volume amounted to 4 billion rubles.
