Microsoft and OpenAI reported that hackers have begun using ChatGPT to improve cyberattacks.

Hacker groups from Russia, China, Iran and North Korea have been found to be using ChatGPT and other chatbots in various scenarios.

For example, North Korean Thallium hackers use ChatGPT to present phishing emails, and the Iranian group Curium uses ChatGPT to edit the code of viruses to make them harder to maintain.

Microsoft and OpenAI have not yet identified any “serious attacks” using ChatGPT and its analogues. OpenAI blocks all accounts that are suspected of being connected to hackers.

In the future, Microsoft expects that attackers will increasingly use artificial intelligence to carry out their attacks. [The Verge]
