Only 12% of specialists in Russia rated their level of competence in artificial intelligence as high, according to a survey by the Ingate Group. Of these, 77% entrusted AI with tasks related to analysis, data classification, text and image generation, and trend tracking.
The survey was conducted in December 2023 and January 2024 and more than 900 people participated. 12% of respondents said they understand the principles of AI and know what tasks to use it for. They can also train neural networks independently and analyze the results.
As the study authors found, 58% of high-level specialists completed paid training programs for working with AI. At the same time, 44% of all respondents took free public domain courses.
20% of those surveyed stated that they had received training organized by their employer. In most cases, medium-sized companies offer their employees to learn skills for working with AI, the study authors found. 41% of mid-market employees surveyed reported taking these types of courses. This is twice as much as among representatives of other business segments.
More than half of those surveyed stated that the main problem when introducing AI technologies into the work of companies is the shortage of specialized specialists.
At the end of 2023, the British Collins Dictionary named “artificial intelligence” the word of the year. In addition, the Russian portal Gramota.Ru declared the noun “neural network” as the word of the year.
