He managed to transfer this valuable data to two Chinese companies with which he cooperated.

38-year-old engineer Lingwei Ding was arrested at his home. He faces up to 10 years in prison and large fines. The story emerged as part of the fight against the infiltration of advanced technologies into China and Russia.

Dean has been working at Google since 2019. Three years later, he began stealing information when he was lured by a technical director position at a Chinese company.

He managed to leak more than 500 confidential files, including chip designs and secrets of a supercomputer built specifically for machine learning.

Google says: “We have the strictest security measures in place, but that didn’t stop our employee. We quickly identified the spy and reported him to the right place.”
