In 2022, revenue from video services from subscriptions and advertising amounted to 55.8 billion rubles; in 2023, the figure increased to 80.9 billion rubles.
The 3 largest platforms by market share are unchanged. Kinopoisk, owned by Yandex, remains the leader. Its share of the total market turnover increased from 26.9% in 2022 to 35.6% in 2023.
Second place, despite the quota reduction from 20.3 to 17%, is occupied by Ivi. The top three is closed by the joint venture of Rostelecom and National Media Group, Wink. This service grew from 13 to 15.3% during the year.
The main driver of the market is paid subscription: online cinemas increased their revenue in this revenue category from 50.2 billion rubles in 2022 to 75.6 billion rubles at the end of last year. The leadership here is also occupied by Kinopoisk (34.9% of revenue), Wink (16.1%) is already in second place, Ivy closes the top three (15.7%).
The total revenue of online cinemas from advertising also increased (from 5.6 billion to 6.3 billion rubles), however, this category is becoming less visible in the overall structure of the market, according to data from TelecomDaily . It now represents less than 8% of the total market turnover (a year earlier, one tenth).
