As can be seen from the reports, the main source of growth was online advertising revenue. Its share of the Internet managed to increase by 40% compared to 2022, up to 79.7 billion rubles.
Key growth segments
Advertising integrations of small and medium-sized businesses on the holding’s sites ensured revenue growth in this segment of 42%. At the same time, revenue from integrations into the company’s own content, entertainment partners and bloggers multiplied by 2.5.
The company also increased its revenue in the Educational Technologies segments by 42% (up to 15.9 billion rubles) and in Enterprise Technologies by 68% (up to 9.7 billion rubles).
Audience growth and investment.
At the end of last year, the daily average audience (DAU) of the company’s platforms grew by 13% and amounted to 76 million users. Compared to Q4 2022, Q4 2023 saw audience growth of 6%.
Last year, the holding company invested in product development, production and promotion of content, and in attracting specialists.
According to VK, the investments ensured the growth of audience metrics and the rapid development of services. The Odnoklassniki, Zen and VKontakte platforms have implemented more than 300 updates. In total, revenue from the social platforms and multimedia content segment in 2023 grew by 35.3% and amounted to 84.6 billion rubles.
In the segment “Ecosystem services and other areas” there was also growth in revenue, which increased by 21% to 23 billion rubles.
In this segment, growth was ensured, among other things, by a 45% increase in revenue from Mail.ru Mail and Mail.ru Cloud. The company continues to actively invest in the segment, which also includes the VK Play gaming platform, RuStore, voice technologies and smart devices.
