The Moscow Intellectual Rights Court upheld Yandex’s claim to end the legal protection of the YA.Taxi trademark. Kommersant reported on this.
The “Ya.Taxi” brand was registered in 2016 to provide transportation and taxi services. Exclusive rights to the sign belonged to Moscow Taxi 8–800 LLC and were valid until 2025. “Ya.Taxi” was canceled due to lack of use.
Yandex registered the Yandex Taxi trademark in 2022. The sign is intended for nine classes of services, including passenger transportation.
Previously it became known that Yandex Taxi rides would be free during mass evacuations.
