Beeline has launched VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology in all regions of Russia, the operator reported. VoLTE allows voice transmission over 4G networks, providing high-quality calls. Currently, 46% of the operator’s total voice traffic consists of VoLTE, and more than 85% of 4G devices support this technology. Almost 78% of subscribers with this feature are actively using it.
The leader in the share of VoLTE in voice traffic is Moscow (61%), Elista is in second place (54%), and St. Petersburg is in third place (53%). VoLTE was first introduced into the Beeline network in August 2015, and since then the number of users has been steadily growing. According to Beeline Deputy General Director Valery Shorzhin, VoLTE allows you to talk and use mobile Internet at the same time, significantly increasing the comfort of communication.
VoLTE provides high-quality voice calls, creating an immersive experience with crisp, clear sound. The connection is faster – within 1-2 seconds if both subscribers have the service activated. You can also continue to use mobile internet during the call. Calls and SMS made via VoLTE cost the same as the subscriber’s home tariff.
