Foreign orders through marketplaces will no longer fall under the duty-free threshold and will begin to be taxed regardless of price, Vedomosti writes. The information was confirmed by a representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The decision to abolish the duty-free threshold for marketplaces is aimed at “the removal of goods through the transfer of electronic resources, taking into account the peculiarities of their customs administration.”
Changes will occur after amendments to the customs legislation of the EAEU come into force. To do this, they must be approved by the State Duma, but when this will happen is unknown.
In addition, from April 1, the duty-free threshold for all purchases is reduced from 1,000 to 200 euros. The rate for goods above the threshold may vary from 5 to 15%. [Ведомости]
