A serious bug has been discovered in Proprietary Assistant that could lead to unwanted deletion of all existing signals.

The issue was discovered by a Pixel 8 Pro user after he tried to turn off the alarm on the external speaker via a voice command to the Assistant.

Surprisingly, more than 50 signals, both active and disabled, pre-installed on the smartphone disappeared without a trace.

Further testing confirmed that saying “Turn off all alarms” in Assistant will definitely clear all alarms on Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 devices. The bug is also present on older models like Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 4a and even Pixel Fold.

Interestingly, this problem does not occur on third-party smartphones with Google Assistant installed. The bug appears to only affect Google-branded devices.
