WhatsApp is preparing a function that will highlight people who have been online recently. This feature, available in version 2.24.9.14 of the Beta version of Messenger, aims to encourage the creation of conversations with people you have never interacted with before, but who are registered in your mobile phone list.
As found by the website, a section called “Recently online” appears in the WhatsApp contact list, which can be accessed from the button in the lower right corner of the screen. WABetaInfo this Tuesday (16). The field appears at the top of the page and highlights all profiles that have been on the messenger recently, and other registered numbers are collected below it.
Like the suggested contacts list, the “Recently online” section aims to encourage interaction between users and make it easier to find “forgotten numbers” in the device’s phone book. While this feature doesn’t drastically change the messaging experience, it can make conversations more convenient and help you stay in touch with the people you care about.
Testing on WhatsApp
Now, This function is only available to WhatsApp Beta testers. Most likely this feature needs to be implemented in iOS messenger as well.
Since it is an experimental feature, there is no prediction regarding its exact launch. Therefore, the public will have to wait for the news for a while longer.
