During shoulder arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which optics are inserted into the joint through various holes, Gobbato said he was able to watch the process on a virtual screen in a movie theater-like format. The doctor emphasized that he received a high-resolution image and could see both virtual and real objects at the same time.

The surgeon also noted the dynamic range of the Vision Pro cameras. The device’s cameras transmitted high-quality images without darkening any areas, despite high-intensity surgical lights that make photographing objects difficult.

“In shoulder arthroscopy, a camera is used inside the joint and surgeons perform the operation by looking directly at the screen. “With this device, it was possible to install a cinema-sized high-resolution screen, as well as perform patient examinations and create 3D models in real time,” he said.
