It’s finally warm. After a wild winter in Moscow, everyone poured into the streets and parks.
In this regard, we decided to conduct our now classic Internet speed test. Find out who is the fastest and who is lagging behind the norm.
Let’s see how events will happen on smartphones in 2024 for the four largest operators in Russia in the most important spring zone of people’s attraction.

How we tested speed in Moscow parks
Who was tested: SIM cards of four Russian operators were used – Beeline, MTS, MegaFon and Tele2.
What was measured on: Two iPhone 15 smartphones with the latest level of iOS system development, currently version 17.4.1.
How I tested: In each Moscow park, we installed four measurements, performing three attempts for each operator.
The need for certain factors is to prevent the occurrence of random factors that could distort the results. Only the best performance for each operator is included in the final article and statistics.
Chemed test test: the well-known service Speedtest.net from OOKLAwhich is available for free on the App Store.

Who turned out to be better? Map and conclusions

Average download speed: 130 Mbit/s
2) Second place for Beeline.
Average download speed: 95 Mbps

Average download speed: 92 Mbps
4) The last one was Tele 2.
Average download speed: 34 Mbps
Table of Internet speeds in parks (Mbit/sec), April 2024, iPhones.ru
🏆 A comment: Megaphone leads in average download speed by a wide margin. Between MTS And Beeline a very small difference that can be interpreted in either direction, splitting second place between them.
But if you can argue here, then with statistics on Tele 2 nothing can be done: it again occupies last place among the four current Internet operators.
Interactive map of testing results. You can move and zoom.
🎖 Megaphone Also more often than not everyone took first place by speed of Internet presence among four operators:
◦ MegaFon: 5 best results
◦ MTS: 2 best results
◦ Beeline: 0 best results
◦ Tele2: 0 best results
Testing in parks is complicated by the fact that some of them take up huge amounts of space. We tried to measure the results in the most “walking” zone of each of them, based on pedestrian traffic. There is a chance that in other months, days and times of day the results could be different for any operator.
Otherwise we reward on equal terms Megaphone Congratulations to MTS and Beeline for their victory with an absolutely normal average speed. A Tele 2 receives a special prize: for the most stable and slow mobile Internet after 6 years of regular tests on iPhones.ru.
PS Are there any wishes to conduct similar tests in other regions or formats this year?
