Sri Lanka to introduce paid visas for Russians from June 1

Starting June 1, 2024, Sri Lanka will resume the paid visa program for citizens of several countries, including Russia. This was reported by the Association of Russian Tour Operators.

A visa to Sri Lanka will be paid for Russian citizens of all ages. The cost of the electronic visa itself will be 75 dollars, the service fee will cost 18.5 dollars, and another 9 dollars will have to be paid for the provision of the service.

The free visa program for citizens of Russia, China, India, Japan and several other countries has been in effect since November 2023. It was introduced as a measure to restore the country’s tourism industry.
