The Chelyabinsk court confiscated the assets of pasta manufacturer Makfa to obtain state revenue. The company’s assets were until now valued at approximately 46 billion rubles. Makfa and its shareholders will appeal the decision to a higher court.

The Chelyabinsk Central District Court accepted the demand of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to confiscate the assets of the Makfa group of companies to obtain state revenue. This was reported by the company’s press service.
“[…] “An immediately enforceable court decision was made according to which the federal group of companies “Makfa” was nationalized in violation of the rules of jurisdiction, with a serious violation of the process and competition rules,” the company noted.
According to the company’s own data, the Makfa brand is one of the five largest pasta producers in the world. According to the company’s lawyer, Pavel Khlustov, the company’s assets were previously valued by the Prosecutor General’s Office at 46 billion rubles.
Previously, Makfa’s assets were arrested at the request of the Attorney General’s Office, as the agency revealed its corrupt origins.
Makfa and its shareholders intend to appeal the court decision to a higher court.
