AI-enabled One UI 6.1 released for Galaxy S22, S21 and older devices

Samsung announced this Friday (10) that One UI 6.1 will be released for many mobile phone models from generations before the Galaxy S24 series. The update will come to Galaxy Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, and devices in the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy S22 series. The announcement covers models sold in the US, but there are users in other countries who have also received the update.

One UI 6.1 includes Galaxy AI, a set of advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-based features that debuted in January. Currently, the Galaxy AI build has already arrived for devices in the Galaxy S23 series and the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 sold in Brazil.

Galaxy AI, available in One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S23 and S24 series, brings various AI features such as Circle to Search, Chat Assistant, Translator, Instant Translation and more.

However, users of older Galaxy devices have reported that most of the AI ​​features in One UI 6.1 are not included in the update.

However, in today’s announcement, the company did not mention any limitations for the mentioned models. There is only a caveat that the Galaxy S21 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 models, will only be covered with the Call and Chat Assistant Circular features.
