I watched the new film “Black Widow.” Bite of Death” in the cinema. Everything is bad here

A new film “Black Widow” has been released in Russian distribution. The bite of death.”

The film was gradually promoted in all cinemas before upcoming screenings. The trailer looked curious and intriguing: how could the authors arouse curiosity about this topic, since similar films have been made around it so many times, starting with “Tarantula” and “The Kingdom of the Spiders”, ending with the recent “Web Insurance”.

I’ll say one thing for sure: you will often see this movie in horror cuts on some TikTok. But there’s no point in looking any further. Now they are considering why.

We have already watched the new product and will hasten to share our impressions.

Attention: slight spoilers possible

The story is not developed to such an extent that this is even possible

What is the movie about: On a cold, stormy night, an unusual egg falls through the window into young Charlotte’s room, from which a strange spider hatches.

The sinister creature becomes the girl’s secret friend, and she is not alarmed that the spider is growing at an unimaginable speed. But when the neighbors’ pets begin to disappear, and then they themselves, Charlotte realizes that her family and other survivors have fallen into a trap: they are being hunted by a giant spider hungry for middle flesh.

Let’s start with the main thing. The plot of commercial projects within one residential building, where the coldness of several residents is revealed: a slightly crazy freak ecologist-researcher who lost his son Maria and the family that runs this very house.

The main story takes place around them, and other family characters suddenly fade into the background. They come back so much that they don’t even say anything about them. These are pawns in large chess games that sound out of order pretty quickly.

The spider itself flew out of space, no one knows its features and is not even trying to reveal it. Only zoologist Eric wants to know at least a little about the unusual species, but does not study the details, saying only that this is a completely unique individual.

Eric is a mirrored version of the entire plot. Same empty and leading nowhere. The paintings have neither content nor any development. Only horror for the sake of horror, which has nothing intelligible behind it.

The result is a clichéd plot, the outcome of which you will know from the first minutes after the insect is shown. I guarantee: you will even immediately understand who will win this confrontation and how (the working element is too rich for us).

The heroes also do not shine with their ingenuity. Moreover, they have no logic at all, like many of the events taking place here. Even in the recent “Web of Fear” there is more logic in the actions of the main character than here.

For example, no one likes to turn on the light when they are not showing anything, but at the same time we are directly told that the spider loves the dark. Neither in the rooms, nor in the corridor, nor in the basement will you show the slightest desire of the residents to at least make the room brighter. And I’m already silent about the fact that the spider itself knows how to open and close the jar in which it sits.

This film tries to scare, but only makes you laugh

Like a horror movie too does not work. The intimidation kit is standard. Here you will find screamers, sharp sounds, and “frightening” images. The authors decided not to use anything beyond the manual.

The spider goes through a number of iterations throughout its 90-minute running time, evolving and becoming larger. But you never show him in full size, except for the final scene. Moreover, we show it only in miniature form. And at the end they either draw him or use animatronics.

But you perceive the movement of the monster so badly that you just laugh, looking at the attempts of the authors. It feels like this is a computer game in front of you, and your hardware simply can’t handle it: everything is incredibly slow.

And yes, the film is rated 18+. Going to see such a movie, you expect a change in deaths, severed limbs, tons of blood, and so on. What’s going on here? Convulsing actors with some blood and a naked parrot doll. Scary incredible (no).

The viewer cannot worry about anyone, because he doesn’t care about these people. There is no tension at all, and the picture quality leaves much to be desired.

On a positive note: jokes around an old lady causing Alzheimer’s. That’s all.

Don’t watch this movie

It’s rare that in my articles I give advice on watching a particular film. I usually leave this choice to the readers. But Black Widow. The Bite of Death” does not leave this choice.

Almost every element of this movie is bad. It seemed like they were filming it just for the sake of filming it. The script is not thought out one bit, the characters are dumber than Siri, and the main horror element is hopelessly lost.

This is a bad movie that is not worth wasting your time on.
