Sharp’s factories are located in Osaka, where they produce televisions, and in the coastal city of Sakai, where it has its largest screen manufacturing facility. Currently produced devices will run out, and the company will also reduce production of smaller panels.
Sharp will also consider supplying components for smartphone cameras and semiconductors for displays. However, the main focus will be on consumer AI electronics and the production of software for these products. This is due to the overall decline in sales of the once profitable Smart TV production line and the overall struggle with unprofitability.
“We are declining… We cannot invest enough in our developing brand business [включая потребительскую электронику]Because Sharp’s cash-generating ability is not improving,” said Sharp President and CEO Wu Po-Xuan.
