According to Interfax, several banks acted as guarantors for the works, but the contractor restricted its activities in the Russian Federation after the imposition of sanctions.
Of all the banks against which RusKhimAlliance filed a lawsuit for breach of obligations (Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, UniCredit Bank, Bayerische Landesbank and Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg), the arrest has so far affected only three.
UniCredit Bank and UniCredit Bank JSC had shares and cash confiscated in all accounts except “C” and “I” (a total of approximately €462.67 million). In addition, transactions with shares of UniCredit Leasing LLC and UniCredit Garant LLC are blocked.
Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Bank LLC and Deutsche Bank Technology Center LLC have frozen 238.6 million euros. Commerzbank AG has 93.688 million euros, all shares of Commerzbank JSC (Eurasia) and real estate – the bank building on Kadashevskaya embankment (LLC “House on Embankment 2”). “).
RusKhimAlliance is a joint project of Gazprom and RusGazDobycha in Ust-Luga for the construction of an ethane-containing gas processing complex. The company entered into a contract with Linde and Renaissance Heavy Industries LLC in 2021.
