The Russian Ministry of Agriculture responded by saying that dairy companies have sufficient reserves of raw materials and starter cultures. The department also noted that these products continue to enter the country uninterrupted, so there will be no shortage of fermented dairy products.

Currently, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture focuses on domestic production of starter cultures and other components. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Two investment projects are currently being implemented in Russia to create production facilities of this type. These are biofactories located in the Yaroslavl and Moscow regions, the construction of which is planned for 2025,” the department noted.

Chr. Hansen is considered the largest manufacturer of starter cultures for cheeses and yogurts in our country. Provided up to 45% of the Russian market. The activity will cease within one year. Danisco currently owns a 35% stake. Up to 10% corresponds to the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Experimental Biofactory” (Uglich).
