In January 2024, on the eve of the primaries, Cramer used robocalls to call Biden voters, urging them on his behalf not to vote. Of course, artificial intelligence was used to imitate Biden’s voice.

When creating the deepfake, Cramer was working for one of Biden’s unnamed rivals.

The state attorney said Cramer faces 13 counts of “voter suppression” and 13 counts of impersonating a candidate. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) also fined the hacker $6 million.
