Sheremetyevo will begin replacing foreign engineering equipment monitoring and control system (BMS) with domestic analogues. This is software that includes operating systems, databases and distribution systems that are already in the Russian software registry. The goal is to replace all foreign BMS with domestic analogues and ensure monitoring of all automatic airport systems.

The work will take place in two stages. First, changes will be made in terminals B and C, their car parks and the transition between terminals. In the second phase, the modernization will affect terminals D, E, F, boiler rooms, water treatment plants and other engineering systems. The new BMS must comply with Russia’s information security requirements and support predictive equipment analysis functions.

The tender for this work was held in May 2024 and 133.6 million rubles were allocated to the project. The new system must integrate with existing airport systems, provide central control and support monitoring technologies. It should also have adaptable web interfaces and the ability to run on a server cluster for reliability.
