The Ministry of Finance supported the initiative to recognize cryptocurrency mining as an economic activity. Izvestia writes about this citing a representative of the ministry.
To recognize that mining is legal in the Russian Federation, it is necessary to assign it OKVED, a classifier of economic activity. For cryptocurrency mining, OKVED can be separated from existing ones or a new one can be created for these purposes.
Furthermore, to recognize mining as a legitimate economic activity, it is necessary to pass a law regulating cryptocurrency mining. At the moment, in Russia there is no legal framework that regulates this activity.
