Originally designed specifically for Qualcomm ARM processors, Auto SR is designed to significantly increase performance by delivering 1440p visuals from 720p gameplay.
Unlike Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR, Auto SR integrates directly into Windows 11 and automatically applies optimizations to various games without requiring in-game settings. A demo at the recent Microsoft Build conference showed results in games like Borderlands 3 and Baldur’s Gate III.
Experts say that despite potential latency issues and the limitations of the ARM architecture, Auto SR represents a significant success for budget gamers looking for higher performance. Although it’s currently limited to Qualcomm chips.
