WhatsApp is preparing new default wallpapers to decorate the chat screen. Web site WABetaInfo discovered the new feature in the 24.11.10.70 version of messenger; It is currently only available to testers registered with the platform’s testing program.
The extra themes will be similar to those available on WhatsApp desktop or web. These are alternative versions of messenger’s default wallpaper; It is simple and full of characteristic drawings of the platform. In the iOS app, each theme defines a wallpaper and message bubble colors.
WhatsApp prepares a total of 10 different themes for the chat screen; On the desktop, there are 15 options. The selected custom option will only appear in the user interface without affecting the recipient’s or group’s preferences.
For now, it is unclear whether the new themes will be available in the Android application. But this will probably be an innovation well received by this segment of the public.
In development
Since new WhatsApp themes are under development, they cannot be tried even by those testing the Beta version of the application. However, Beta users will probably be the first to check out the new feature.
In any case, since it is a function that is still in the preparation phase, there is no prediction of an exact launch.
