Intelbroker detailed the volume of data hacked, saying it gained access to software, source code, proprietary files, employee and customer databases, financial information, future plans and technical specifications. The stolen data is sold exclusively for the Monero cryptocurrency, and Intelbroker offers to use an intermediary to process transactions.

Intelbroker’s bad reputation in the cybersecurity community raises serious concerns. The group has been linked to high-profile hacks including Europol, US contractor Acuity Inc, staffing giant Robert Half, Los Angeles International Airport and alleged hacks of HSBC and Barclays Bank. Intelbroker is also believed to be behind the major data breach at T-Mobile, according to US officials.

AMD has not yet confirmed the full scope of the attack but is actively investigating the issue.
