Dr. from FMBA Bariatric Medical Center in Rostov-on-Don. Experts led by Maxim Burikov have added a new online consultation function to the Slimmer mobile application. It is designed to improve treatment outcomes of obese patients. This change will allow more effective monitoring of the health status of patients undergoing bariatric surgery or preparing for surgery.
Created by the center’s scientists in 2020, Slimmer includes a BMI calculator, water and medication tracking, in addition to telemedicine functionality. The application is used to monitor the health status of patients who have undergone operations to reduce the size of the stomach or restructure the intestines to lose weight.
The launch of the new online consultation feature at Slimmer expands patients’ access to specialists such as surgeons, endocrinologists, nutritionists, cardiologists, psychiatrists and psychotherapists. They will be able to provide consultations and monitor patients’ conditions through chats as well as video or voice calls, making the process more convenient and accessible.
